Preview: Luton Town U23

MK Dons looking to return to winning ways today...

9 April 2019

MK Dons Under-23s take on Luton Town this afternoon, with the aim to get back on the winning trail in the Central League South after defeat last time out.

Edu Rubio’s side suffered only their second loss of the campaign away at Cheltenham Town and dropped to third in the table as a result. However, with just two points separating them from leaders Plymouth Argyle and having played two games less than the Pilgrims, it’s still in the Dons’ capability to climb back to the summit.

Plymouth aren’t in action this week so a victory this afternoon - a seventh win this term - would see the Dons move above them. They would, though, need Exeter City to slip up at home to Bristol Rovers in order to retain top spot.

Kick-off is at 1pm.

THE OPPOSITION!
Luton Town have yet to record a victory in the Central League South this term, although they do still sit above Forest Green Rovers due to their six draws and superior goal difference.

The Hatters have only found the net seven times in 2018/19 but have only conceded 20 - a better total than all-but one other side outside the top four.

Luton enter today’s match on the back of three defeats in four, including a 4-1 reverse to Cheltenham Town last time out.

TEAM NEWS!
The Dons fielded a young side last time out and are expected to do so again this afternoon.

Dylan Asonganyi, David Kasumu and Finn Tapp are set to play a starring role once again while the likes of Oran Jackson, Brandon Thomas-Asante and Sam Nombe could also feature due to the terms of their loan agreements.

HEAD TO HEAD!
MK Dons came out on top when the two sides met in the reverse Central League South fixture back in February.

Dylan Asonganyi scored twice for the Dons while Ousseynou Cisse netted a late third as Edu Rubio’s side 23s picked up all three points.
