MK Dons Ladies to play third-tier football next season...

9 April 2019

MK Dons Ladies have retained their FA Women’s National League Southern Premier Division status.

The Dons were beaten 3-1 by Plymouth Argyle on Sunday but due to Queens Park Rangers’ 1-1 draw with Coventry United on the same day, they are now assured of third-tier football next season.

Currently 10th, Owen James and Charlie Bill will be hoping to lead their side above Gillingham and into ninth before the season’s end. They currently sit two points behind the Gills with three games each left to play.

The first of those final three comes this Wednesday evening away at league-leaders Coventry United, fresh from that crucial draw with QPR. The match will take place at Daventry Town Football Club, kick-off 7.45pm.

The Dons also have a Berks and Bucks FA Senior Women’s Cup Final to look forward to before the season's out. They take on Chesham United at Arbour Park on Thursday 2 May.

MK Dons Ladies confirmed on Monday that they won't compete in the FA Women's National League Plate Final after being removed from the competition. This is due to an administrative error that resulted in the fielding of an ineligible player.
