Kieran Agard has praised the support of the MK Dons faithful and credits Russell Martin’s late goal against Forest Green Rovers to those who supported throughout.
601 MK Dons fans made the journey to The New Lawn Stadium and were rewarded with three points after Martin netted an 87th-minute winner.
Martin and the rest of the Dons players celebrated with the travelling away support as they picked up a crucial three points.
“It was great to celebrate with the fans,” Agard told iFollow MK Dons following the success in Nailsworth.
“It was nice to see them running down, they were really loud and kept singing throughout – that helped us.
“It was a fantastic win and it was a result of all the hard work the boys put in. I thought everyone was fantastic and the win showed our fighting spirit.”
Agard opened the scoring and in the process netted his 21st goal of the season. Despite his fine goalscoring form this season – Agard insists winning games means more to him.
“I’m delighted with my goal, but more importantly, I’m buzzing we picked up three points.
Recalling Martin’s winner, Agard described his feeling of elation after seeing the ball hit the back of the net.
“I saw the ball land to Russell and I was just waiting for the net to rustle. When it did I was so elated – I just ran after and chased him – I couldn’t catch him!”

It's second versus first at Stadium MK on Saturday as MK Dons take on league-leaders Lincoln City.
