Preview: Oxford United Women

All you need to know ahead of MK Dons Ladies' FAWNL Southern Premier Division clash at Court Park Farm...

11 September 2018

James Honeyman is aiming for MK Dons Ladies to win their first points of the season when they face Oxford United this evening.

The Dons travel to Court Park Farm to face the O’s in a FAWNL Southern Premier Division fixture and speaking about the game after Sunday’s 1-0 defeat to Chichester City Ladies, Honeyman said: “We can’t wait for Tuesday and to go again.

“We love playing at this level and want to go there and get some points!”

The Dons are yet to put their first points on the board after their first three league games of the season having suffered narrow defeats to Chichester and Plymouth Argyle as well as losing 3-0 to Coventry United.

Whereas Oxford United, have racked up three points so far this campaign after beating Queens Park Rangers Ladies 3-0 away from home at the end of August.

However, they have suffered two defeats courtesy of Watford and Chichester City, with the scoreline being 2-1 in their opponents favour on both occasions.

Tuesday’s trip to Court Park is the Dons’ first away league fixture of the season although they did travel to face Plymouth Argyle in the FAWNL Cup last weekend.

The Dons fell to a 4-2 defeat on that occasion but will take comfort from the fact that during their promotion-winning campaign last season, they suffered only one defeat on their travels.

Following the clash with Oxford United Women on Tuesday’s, the Dons are quickly back in action as they are set to face Queens Park Rangers on Sunday at Honeycroft, which is the home of Uxbridge FC.

Kick-off tonight is at 7.45pm.
