Lee disappointed with Forest Green draw

Goalkeeper Lee Nicholls reflects on Saturday’s draw with Forest Green Rovers…

17 September 2018

MK Dons were forced to settle for a point at home to Forest Green Rovers after Reuben Reid’s late penalty cancelled out Chuks Aneke’s opener.

Despite maintaining their unbeaten record this season, Nicholls stated that everyone is disappointed with the result.

“Sometimes we have to grind out results,” Nicholls told the media following the full-time whistle.

“We’re disappointed not to take all three points, but Forest Green are a good team, we spoke about them and we prepared well – I thought it was a good game.

“We had a few good spells in the game, as did they – that’s football.”

Aneke’s first-half goal gave Paul Tisdale’s side the lead, and in the process, opened his Sky Bet League Two account for the season.

Nicholls noted that there is a lot of depth, not just upfront, but in the whole squad, something that’ll only benefit the men from MK1 this season.

‘Chuks is a big presence, he’s a good footballer and good with his feet. We’ve got a lot of strikers, from Robbie Simpson, to Osman Sow, Kieran Agard and the kids.

“We’ve got real strength in depth – we have to work hard to provide more opportunities for them."
