Lawson D’Ath is back and eager to help prove his worth to the MK Dons faithful.
The midfielder has been limited to just four substitute appearances so far this season due to muscle and ankle injuries but, having overcoming the latter, has been involved in the last three matches.
“It is really good to be back involved,” D’Ath told the media ahead of this weekend’s trip to Mansfield Town.
“It has been a tough year for me. Last year, I did my ankle, came back, then did my medial and came back. I was fine but then it was the end of the season. Then I had a little niggle in pre-season, then did my ankle. It really has been stop-start.
“Hopefully now I'm on the up and my luck will change! Hopefully I'm over that and can look forward.”
He continued: “Every week, every day in training, I'm working hard on my fitness and sharpness, and trying to force my way into the team.
“Like any footballer, I want to show what I'm capable of and I haven't been able to do that yet - I hope I can now I'm on the right path again.
“I feel can add something on the pitch and I want to be part of a winning team.”
The Dons travel to Mansfield Town this weekend looking to make it six straight Sky Bet League Two victories and, while confident in the team to maintain the form, D’Ath insists they must remain focused.
“It's good to be in form now but we need to keep picking up the points. It's all positive to be where we are but we have to keep concentrating and doing what we're doing.
“[Promotion] is the aim but it's only October and there is a long way to go.”
