Kieran Agard netted his fifth goal of the season against Northampton Town last Saturday but insists the hard work doesn’t stop ahead of Tuesday’s game against Notts County.
The 29-year-old’s first-half goal gave MK Dons their fourth successive Sky Bet League Two victory, but Agard knows the work doesn’t stop despite the recent success.
“We’ll be back on the training field to prepare for Tuesday and hopefully we get the three points again.
“We put in a lot of hard work and we got the result we deserved against Northampton. It was a great confidence boost to get the goal just before half-time and we went again after the break to try to get a second.
“We always push for the second goal but it didn’t come. We defended well as a team we’re delighted to get the three points - we’ll keep working hard on the training field.
Agard also praised the Dons defence who have kept four consecutive Sky Bet League Two clean sheets.
“The defenders do their job well and it runs right throughout the team, at the front, it’s drilled into us to defend from the front – and that’s shown.”
Agard concluded his interview with a nod to the MK Dons faithful who have been the 12th man so far this campaign.
“I’ve said it all season, the fans have been brilliant. We need them as they are just as important as the lads on the pitch - we’re thankful for them and glad we made them happy.”
