Tis: A lesson learnt

Paul Tisdale on his side's defeat at the Lamex Stadium...

Paul Tisdale believes Saturday’s defeat to Stevenage is a lesson learnt for his MK Dons side.

Tisdale’s Dons fought back from a goal down to lead at the Lamex Stadium but two finishes in the final six minutes from the hosts saw them walk away with all three points.

“We got ourselves into a really good position but we let it slip,” Tisdale said in his post-match press conference.

“You always get a similar type of challenge here. It's always tight and combative and we were prepared for that.

“Being a goal up, with 10 minutes to play, it was a good place to be, but we didn't finish it off. Credit to Stevenage, they were committed to their performance and they gave us a real challenge.”

He continued: “If we're going to do well this season there will be all sorts of challenges, and today was one of those we just couldn't see off. I'm really disappointed with that but it was a good experience and we'll learn from it.

"At the moment it's not a lesson we wanted to learn, as I would have hoped we'd seen that off, but we will learn.”

MK Dons will look to return to winning ways on Tuesday evening when they entertain Morecambe at Stadium MK.

Tisdale’s men have won six of their nine home matches this season and have yet to be beaten on their own patch - the Dons boss hopes being back in Milton Keynes will provide them the ideal chance to bounce back.

“You're always one game away from your next win, loss or draw and this one was a defeat.

“It’s a shame we let it slip at the end but we have to be philosophical - we’ve lost three points, but let's not lose more than that.”
