Simpson to stay for the season

Striker to spend remainder of the campaign at Stadium MK...

22 November 2018

Manager Paul Tisdale confirmed in his press conference on Thursday that striker Robbie Simpson will remain with MK Dons for the entirety of the 2018/19 season.

Simpson signed a short-term deal with the Dons back in July but Tisdale has announced that the 33-year-old will remain at Stadium MK through to the end of the campaign.

“Robbie will be with us for the rest of the season,” Tisdale confirmed. “His sixth-month contract was an acknowledgement of my trust in him but also that he’d only just returned to fitness from a serious ankle injury.

“He was somebody I felt I could use during the early stages of the season and he’s proven to be a valuable member of the dressing room. He’s proven his fitness and he’s done particularly well in the games he’s played in.

“We’re delighted to have him here so we are more than happy for him to continue through until the end of the season.”

Simpson has made 15 appearances in all competitions this season and has scored two goals, including an important equaliser in the 1-1 draw with Grimsby Town back in August.
