Pete looking to make up for lost time

MK Dons midfielder on his return to action last weekend...

7 November 2018

Peter Pawlett is back in action and eager to make up for lost time.

The MK Dons midfielder injured his ankle just 40 seconds into MK Dons’ season opener at Oldham Athletic in August but made his comeback in Saturday’s 4-0 victory over Crawley Town - playing the last 10 minutes and going close to marking his return with a goal.

“I’m really pleased, first and foremost with the win, but also because I’m delighted to be back involved,” Pawlett told iFollow MK Dons following the weekend win at Checkatrade.com Stadium.

“It was very frustrating to get injured in that tackle 40 seconds into the season and it’s been 13 tough weeks but the physios have been unbelievable with me and now I’m feeling sharp and raring to go.”

He continued: “While I was out, I kept looking how many games there were left after each match. There is still plenty of football left to play and hopefully I can be involved as much as I can.

"With some cup games coming up, hopefully I can get some more minutes under my belt, get my form and sharpness back.”

“I’m looking to produce as much as I can for the team. I want to score goals and create goals but as long as the team can keep picking up points then I’ll be happy.”

Pawlett has watched on as MK Dons have climbed up from 13th place in the Sky Bet League Two table to second and the former Aberdeen man is excited at the prospect of re-joining a winning team.

“Watching week in and week out, the lads have been brilliant. We’ve definitely improved over the time and in the last couple of weeks we’ve been eye-catching.

“We’re starting to take on board what the manager has been saying. We’re not afraid to get on the ball and make things happen.

“We want to be the best that we can be so we’re always looking to improve. It’s been very good so far, though.”
