Abbie Roberts and her England Under-17 side overcame Italy 4-0 in the final Group Stage game in the UEFA Women’s U17 Championship finals on Saturday afternoon to secure their place in the Semi-Finals.
Heading into the clash Italy hadn’t conceded a goal, their resilient defence, however, was undone by Ebony Salmon who helped herself to three goals in 18-minutes to put the Lionesses on course for an emphatic victory. Annabel Blanchard found the net eight minutes before full-time to secure all three points.
Roberts played the full 80 minutes for England who finish second in their group and will now face the winners of Group A on Friday.
