Abbie Roberts and England began their UEFA Women’s U17 Championship finals campaign with 2-2 draw to Poland on Wednesday.
The Lionesses were forced to share the spoils at the Šiauliai Central Stadium after Paulina Tomasiak’s stoppage-time equaliser cancelled out goals from Jessica Park and Paris McKenzie. England had trailed to a Paulina Filipczak opener.
Roberts played the full 80 minutes for England, who face Spain on Saturday in their next Group B fixture. They then play Italy three days later in their final group match.
Spain and Italy played out a goalless draw earlier on Wednesday in the opening match of the tournament.
Should Roberts & Co finish in the top two of their group, they will progress to the Semi Finals where they could face any one of Germany, Netherlands, Finland and hosts Lithuania.
