After numerous impressive performance in the Under-23s and a more than successful loan spell at Oxford City, young striker Sam Nombe is a man who has certainly had a lot of personal success over the last 12 months.
Having made his Carabao Cup and Sky Bet League One debut against Forest Green Rovers and Blackpool respectively in August before an Emirates FA Cup debut followed in November.
After featuring in MK Dons’ final day victory over Shrewsbury Town, Nombe stated he is determined to come back a better player after the summer break.
“I’m going to keep working and improving myself to get better,” Nombe told the media at the Montgomery Waters Meadow Stadium.
“I want to try breakthrough and fight for a spot and try to take someone’s spot if it’s possible.”
Having come through the academy at Stadium MK, Nombe understands the importance of the MK faithful and had nothing but kind words for the support they’ve provided all season.
“For the fans to come out and give us their support, not just against Shrewsbury but all season, we kind of owed them a win.”
Nombe added, “Hopefully, the three points reassured them that we will bounce back from Sky Bet League 2 and hopefully we can do that next season.”
