Finland overcome England 2-1...

21 May 2018

After suffering a Semi-Final defeat against Germany on Friday afternoon, England Under-17s were looking to return to winning ways as they faced Finland in the third place play-off.

As well as a Bronze Medal, automatic qualification for the Women’s Under-17s World Cup was also on the line for the winners.

Donning the captain’s armband for her country, Roberts’ England took an early lead after Jessica Park netted her second goal of the tournament 12 minutes into the tie.

However, second-half goals from Annika Huhta and Jenni Kantanen secured the victory for Finland.
