Sam Nombe and Oxford City made it through to the Final of the Oxfordshire Senior Cup on Tuesday evening, courtesy of a 1-0 victory over near neighbours Oxford United.
Nombe played the full 90 minutes in the cup triumph and went close to doubling the Hoops’ lead late on but was denied by a good save from U’s goalkeeper Niall Clayton.
Matt Paterson was the goalscorer for Oxford City, finding the net from just outside the D with 19 minutes left to play.
Nombe has enjoyed an excellent start to his loan spell, having scored five goals in four appearances. He will look to maintain that form on Saturday when the National League South side play host to second-placed Havant & Waterlooville.
Hugo Logan could also be in action this weekend for Hitchin Town when they travel to Chesham United in the EVO-STIK Southern Premier League. Logan will be looking to make his sixth appearance for the Canaries.
