Impromptu scouting mission for Micciche

Dan watches Rotherham after Bradford postponement...

11 March 2018

Once confirmation of Saturday’s postponement came through, attention for boss Dan Micciche turned immediately to his side’s Sky Bet League One clash with Rotherham United and those preparations began with an impromptu scouting mission.

Instead of heading back to Milton Keynes, Micciche travelled across Yorkshire with Keith Millen and Steve Brown to watch Tuesday’s opponents in action against Rochdale – the Millers were beaten 1-0 by Rochdale at the AESSEAL New York Stadium.

“We're fortunate that Rotherham is only 45 minutes away so we're going to watch them against Rochdale,” the Dons manager told iFollow MK Dons after arriving at the Northern Commercials Stadium.

“Our preparation for the game has already started – we'll come in on Sunday and Monday to prepare for what is going to be a massive game on Tuesday.”

Despite getting an early advantage ahead of next week’s meeting with Rotherham, Micciche was frustrated that Saturday’s game couldn’t go ahead at Bradford – particularly for the supporters and his players.

“It's very frustrating because we'd prepared all week for this. We were here and ready but we found out on the coach, at around 1:30pm, that the game was off.

“Nothing against Bradford - they tried to get the game on, but I do feel bad for the players and the supporters.

“They were expecting 20,000 here for Simon Grayson's first game so it would have been a great stage for us to perform and get three points but the pitch is not playable.”
