Callum Brittain came off the bench to help inspire England Under-20s to a 1-0 victory over Poland in Bielsku-Bialej.
The MK Dons defender entered Thursday’s international friendly, played in front of 13,745 supporters, as a 75th-minute substitute, with the Young Lions down to men and being held goalless by their hosts. He replaced former MK Dons loanee Harvey Barnes.
England, who had Aaron Wan-Bissaka sent off for two bookable offences, won the match thanks to Keinan Davis’ goal three minutes from time.
Brittain & Co will now return to England to prepare for their clash with Portugal on Tuesday. The match will take place at Manchester City’s Academy Stadium, kick-off 7pm.
