It didn’t take long for Paul Tisdale to warm to Chairman Pete Winkelman and agree to become the new First-Team Manager of MK Dons.
The pair met following Tisdale’s departure from Exeter City and quickly struck up a bond which resulted in the 45-year-old being appointed as the new chief at Stadium MK.
“I knew instantly I’d get on with both Peter and [Executive Director] Andrew Cullen,” Tisdale said about the meetings that took place ahead of his appointment.
“Peter started talking and he does that pretty well about MK Dons. You could tell instantly, the energy, the passion and the love that he has for his project. It was clear that he lives and breathes this football club and this town.
“I listened and I had empathy with what he’s trying to do here. I’m ‘Mr. Long-Term’ - I’ve just done 12 years at a Club to develop and create and environment and a brand so I know what he’s looking for."
He continued: “It’s about the people - it’s why I stayed at Exeter for so long, to have the affinity and the camaraderie and the shared vision with the people I work with. I believe I’ll do the same here.”
