Sam Nombe is a man on the lips of many an MK Dons fan after his exploits in front of goal over the last 12 months.
After signing his first professional contract in May 2017, Nombe has gone from strength to strength before putting pen-to-paper on a new two-year contract earlier this week.
The powerful striker has a keen eye for goal and topped the goal scoring charts for the Under-23s this campaign having found the net nine times in 12 games for Edu Rubio’s side.
His form for the young Dons didn’t go unnoticed as Nombe was handed the first loan spell of his career as he joined Oxford City on loan towards the end of January.
During his stint with City, the 19-year old made an instant impact as he scored six goals in nine games while on loan at Marsh Lane.
After committing his future to the men from MK1, Nombe couldn’t help but display gratitude for the Dons faithful who have constantly backed the Academy graduate.
“It’s exceptional that the fans give me the support they have because they always push me to get better – I want to give back to them and by showing them what I’m capable of.”
Nombe also thanked his teammates for the support they’ve given him during his first season as a professional footballer.
“I learn a lot from all the strikers, to be fair I’ve taken things from everyone in the team because they all have the experience to help me get better.
“It’s great to work alongside my mates as I’ve created such a bond with them and it’s always an experience to play alongside them because I’m very close with them and I’m happy to go through this experience with them.”
