Jordan Moore-Taylor became MK Dons’ first signing of the 2018-19 Summer Transfer window after putting pen to paper on a two-year-deal - in the process, he became Paul Tisdale’s maiden capture at Stadium MK.
The 24-year-old reunites with his former manager Tisdale, as well as both Matt Oakley and Mel Gwinnett whom he also worked with at Exeter City.
After completing his move to Stadium MK, Moore-Taylor spoke of the importance Tisdale played in the move, while also noting his excitement for the season ahead.
“It was a big decision but I felt it was the right time to move away from Exeter City. I had a few options but here I’ve got the manager, Matt Oakley and Mel Gwinnett that gives me similarity and it’s not a shock to the system.
“I know how the manager works and how he wants to play, but I don’t know the Club and I hope the lads help me settle in.”
He added, “I’m looking forward to a new challenge, I had a good six years at Exeter where I came through the youth ranks – but I’m looking forward to a new challenge.”
Having made his professional debut in 2012, aged 18, Moore-Taylor brings plenty of experience with over 150 Sky Bet League Two appearances to his name – something the defender believes will only aid the Dons.
“I’ve had six years playing in this division, I know the league and I know how tough it is to get out of. I’m under no illusions about how tough this season is going to be - hopefully we’ll be fighting at the top end of the table.
“It’s a physical battle, teams can play direct but they are very good at going direct and that’s what they are good at -we’ve got to stand up to the challenge. You can’t just think about playing football you’ve got to keep the ball out the net and build upon that.”
