FIRST-TEAM

Manager
A familiar face to many Football League fans, Gary Johnson has occupied the dugout at the Jonny-Rocks Stadium since March 2015. The 62-year-old arrived with the Robins bottom of the Sky Bet League Two table and while he couldn’t steer them clear of relegation his contract was extended until the end of the 2016-17 campaign.

The faith installed in Johnson was repaid the following season as he guided Cheltenham to the National League Title earning an instant return to the Football League in 2016 - since then, he’s finished 21st and 17th in Sky Bet League Two.

Key and notable players

Star striker Mo Eisa (pictured below) was named Cheltenham’s Player of the Season following his 22 goals in Sky Bet League Two last year. The 23-year-old was also named the Club’s Players’ Player of the year and the Mira Player of the Year.

Midfielder Kevin Dawson has an eye for goal with the 27-year-old finding the net five times this season, while defender William Boyle contributed five goals. Elsewhere, Scott Flinders has been an ever-present between the sticks following his arrival from Macclesfield Town in the summer of 2017.

Last season
Cheltenham Town ended the 2017/18 campaign in 17th place in the Sky Bet League Two table. Over the course of the season they tallied 13 wins, 12 draws and were on the losing side 21 times. Their total of 51 points was an increase of the 50 points they recorded a year earlier.

Transfers
The Club released eight players ahead of the 2018/19 campaign with Jordan Cranston, Jamie Grimes, Danny Wright, Josh Thomas, Adam Page, Sanmi Odelusi, Dan Holman and Jaanai Gordon all departing the Club while Aaron Downes retired.

More recently, midfielder Carl Winchester departed the Club for Forest Green Rovers, while Swindon-born midfielder Tom Smith joined the Robins on a two-year deal.

Midfielder Harry Pell was sold to Colchester, while Conor Thomas, Johnny Mullins and Chris Hussey all signed on at the Jonny-Rocks Stadium with Ryan Broom, Ben Tozer (pictured below) and Alex Addai also putting pen to paper.
