McGrandles buzzing to return to Stadium MK

24 July 2018

Football has been absent from Stadium MK for just 11-weeks, however, the long-awaited return comes to an end tonight as MK Dons host Ipswich Town in their penultimate pre-season friendly.

One man who can’t wait to return to MK1 is midfielder Conor McGrandles, who is now entering his second season as a Dons player.

“I’m really excited for the upcoming season,” McGrandles told iFollow MK Dons.

“It’s been a long time but I think everyone has prepared themselves properly and we’ll all be ready for it.

“I can’t wait to get back to the Stadium, as soon as you come to this Club, everyone mentions how impressive the stadium is. Whenever you get a chance to play there, you are buzzing – the game can’t come quick enough.”

With a number of fresh faces through the door, this Summer – McGrandles feels the Spanish football camp will only benefit the Dons moving forwards.

“It has been a good week [Spanish tour] and a productive week, with all the new signings I thought it was good to get everyone together as it bonds us closer together – it’s been tough but it has been worthwhile.

“The new lads have been brilliant to be fair, they are all good characters, they are loud and are easy to get on with. That makes it easier because on the pitch they need to bring what they are in the changing room - they are loud on the pitch as well but that makes it easier for everyone.”

McGrandles concluded, “It gives you a chance to get to know each other even better when the players come away, I think that’s really helped. Even from the game tonight [FC Jumilla] compared to the Almeria game, we’re starting to learn more and more about each player that comes in and I think we’ve done that really well.”
