Ryan in familiar surroundings

Midfielder discusses his return to Stadium MK and his reunion with manager Paul Tisdale...

11 July 2018

It shouldn’t take new recruit Ryan Harley too long to settle in at Stadium MK.

The midfielder spent three months on loan with MK Dons during the 2012/13 season and made 11 appearances. His one and only goal came during the memorable 4-2 FA Cup win over Queens Park Rangers at Loftus Road.

Not only will Harley be accustomed to the surroundings at Stadium MK, he’ll also be familiar with several of his new teammates and staff, including manager Paul Tisdale, whom he worked with during his time at Exeter City, and centre-back Jordan Moore-Taylor, who captained the 33-year-old last season at St James Park.

“I’ve known [the manager and his staff] for a long time,” he told iFollow MK Dons. “I’ve played for Tis for a number of years so I’m looking forward to playing for him again and linking up with a few of my friends.

“Jordan was my captain for a few years. He’s a very good player and I enjoy playing with him - we’ve both got a good understanding of each other so I’m looking forward to that continuing here.

“I also know a couple of the other lads just from playing here and against them over the years.”

Harley is one of seven summer arrivals at Stadium MK, all of whom will be looking to inspire the team back to winning ways after three disappointing years.

“This is a big football club that should be in a higher league. Hopefully it’ll be a successful year for us - this is a tough division, as I’ve experienced over the past few years, but hopefully it’s one we’ll get through.”
