Ladies Preview: Luton Town

All you need to know ahead of Sunday's clash with Luton Town...

24 February 2018

James Honeyman is aiming for MK Dons Ladies to show hunger in order to win their game against Luton Town Ladies on Sunday.

The Dons travel to Stockwood Park Athletics Stadium to face the Hatters in the Quarter Finals of the FA WPL Plate – kick-off 2pm.

Honeyman revealed his side are eager to play after managing to play only one game in four weeks, following weather postponements.

“We are itching to play,” said Honeyman.

“I will look for the team to show fight, hunger, and desire to win this game.”

Both sides go into this game having achieved victory in their respective County Cups, and will both be aiming to progress in another tournament.

The Dons won 2-1 against Chesham United Ladies to reach the BBFA Women’s Senior County Cup final, whereas the Hatters defeated AFC Dunstable Ladies 2-1 to reach the final of Bedfordshire Women's County Cup.

The last time the Hatters hosted the Dons at Stockwood Park Athletics Stadium was in October.

The Dons achieved a memorable 2-1 against the Hatters in that game, with Charly Wright scoring with almost the last kick of the game to grab the victory.

The scoreline was also 2-1 in the Dons’ favour when the pair met at Willen Road, with Laura Mills grabbing both of the Dons’ goals.

Honeyman previously revealed that he is aware of the Hatter’s quality and that he expects games against them to always be tough.

“I think we know they’re good, we know it’s going to be tough,” stated Honeyman.

“We beat them in the 94th minute earlier this season, we know we’re really going to have to dig in to get that result.”

The Dons have a full team available for selection.
