Striker eager to maintain form…

Despite tasting defeat in Saturday’s clash with Portsmouth, Ike Ugbo was able to take a couple of positives from the game.

21-minutes into the tie, the diminutive forward netted his first goal in an MK Dons shirt and come the full-time whistle was announced the sponsor’s Man of the Match.

Talking to iFollow MK Dons ahead of Tuesday’s clash with Oldham, the 19-year-old spoke of his delight but also knows it’s the three points that matter the most.

“Getting my first goal for the Club was probably one of the best feelings I’ve had this season and hopefully, I can get many more for this team.

“I think as a team we were unlucky not to get the three points like we deserved. We have confidence going into Oldham though and if we continue to play like we did against Portsmouth we should get the win.”

Ugbo featured just behind Kieran Agard in a 3-5-2 formation and looked to combine with his teammates and create chances whenever he got on the ball.

“I think the formation worked well and we worked well as a team, we did well to expose them and get in behind. I think we caused more problems and looked more of a threat as a team at the weekend – hopefully we can do that more this season.

“It’s good that we don’t have long to wait to put things right, hopefully, we can start getting more points on the table and get higher up the league.”

The Chelsea loanee has been at Stadium MK for just under six weeks and says he’s enjoying his football and his confidence is high.

“I’ve settled in really well and everyone has welcomed me into the team – now it’s time to get some points on the board.

“My confidence is high at the moment and I’m finding my feet again, hopefully, I can do that more this season and help the team more.”

Ugbo concluded his press-conference with a thank you to the Dons faithful who are sticking with the Dons through the difficult times this season.

"I'd like to thank all the fans because they are supporting us and they believe in us too."
