Gilbey set for lengthy spell out

Midfielder set for spell on sidelines...

15 February 2018

Alex Gilbey is set for a ‘significant’ spell on the sidelines after undergoing surgery on a knee injury.

The midfielder had the injury operated on this week and will be out of action beyond the current campaign.

Head of Sports Medicine Simon Crampton told mkdons.com: “After the game against Walsall, he reported the injury to us – we acted upon it and he had an MRI before visiting a surgeon in London.

Unfortunately for Alex, it was discovered that he had picked up a significant injury to his knee. The nature of the injury meant it had to be operated on – he has had that surgery and all went as well as it could do.

“He will be out for a significant period of time. We can’t put a timescale on a recovery time at this early stage, but he will certainly be out for the remainder of the campaign and into next season.

“He will receive the best possible care here at Stadium MK and I’m sure everyone will join me in wishing Alex a speedy and full recovery.”
