10 days without football, Stadium MK form and the start of a busy month among the storylines to watch...

mkdons.com details the storylines to follow heading into Saturday’s Sky Bet League Two clash at Stadium MK.

A well-deserved break
MK Dons head into Saturday's clash off the back of a 10-day break, following their elimination from the Emirates FA Cup last month.

The break has enabled Paul Tisdale, and his side an extended period of rest, ahead of what will prove to be, a testing month from the men from MK1.

Carlisle, meanwhile, were in Emirates FA Cup action last weekend. They were knocked out by Lincoln City, and will be looking to return to winning ways with a win at Stadium MK.

Stadium MK Form
No side in Sky Bet League Two has picked up more points at home than MK Dons. Tisdale's men have picked up 24 points from 30 at MK1 this season.

Their last Sky Bet League Two outing, meanwhile, took place at Stadium MK, when an Alex Gilbey brace secured all three points on a cold Tuesday night.

The defence has also impressed on home turf, with Lee Nicholls conceding just four goals at Stadium MK this campaign. That's the lowest total in Sky Bet League Two - and is a tally only bettered by Liverpool (1) from the 92.

Facing a resilient Carlisle side
Carlisle will certainly pose a tough threat for Tisdale - with The Cumbrians sitting just four points off a Play-Off spot.

John Sheridan's side have already proven they can pick up results in big games this year, most notably overcoming fourth place Newport County 3-2 in early November.

They've also run out winners against Oldham and Bury, both of which are looking like Play-Off candidates this season, and will be looking to take home all three points come Saturday afternoon.

Start of a busy month
December is always a busy month in the world of football, and it's looking to be the case once again as we enter the month of festivities. Saturday's clash will be the first of five games during December, in which, MK Dons face a number of tricky fixtures.

Following the tie against Carlisle, MK Dons travel to Newport County before welcoming Colchester United to Stadium MK three days before Christmas.

They then travel to Cheltenham Town on Boxing Day, before making the short trip to Northampton Town on the 29th December.

With a number of games in such a short space of time, the Dons will be hoping to get their month off to a winning start.

Dangerous Devitt
MK Dons will have to be on red alert at the back this weekend, with Carlisle Jamie Devitt in town. The in-form midfielder has netted five times in his last five games - with his form seeing him nominated for November's Sky Bet League Two Player of the Month.

Carlisle striker Ashley Nadesan is another man to watch, the Fleetwood loanee has netted seven goals already this season, while he's also registered a further two assists.

Goals Galore
It’s been over four years since MK Dons and Carlisle have gone head-to-head, however, when they've done so, goals are usually the order of business. In their 12 meetings, 46 goals have been scored - that's an average of 3.83 Goals per Game.

In their most recent meeting, back in January 2014, it was Carlisle who were victories. Goals from Lee Miller, Brad Potts and David Amoo secured a 3-0 win for United.
