Conor McGrandles was signed predominantly as a central midfielder, however, he’s now displaying his talents on the right side of MK Dons’ defence.
After missing the best part of three months due to injury, the Scot is back in the side and impressing in a role many wouldn’t have seen him play in.
McGrandles has looked nothing but comfortable in the right-wing back position for the Dons and has put in a string of impressive performances.
Ahead of Saturday’s clash with Newport County, the 23-year-old spoke of his delight over showcasing his abilities.
“You can play a lot of different positions if you're a central midfielder,” McGrandles told the media.
“If you're playing at centre-back, it's just playing slightly deeper in this team, it's like a central midfield role really. There is so much rotation in the team – you sometimes see George Williams playing in central midfield or Rhys tracking back - everyone in the team can do a job anywhere.”
“I was really happy for the team while I was out, and I felt it would be a struggle to get back in, luckily I got in quite quickly.
“The games I've played have been here, it suits me perfectly. We have a lot of the ball, and it's more of an attacking role than a defensive role, but we'll see how it is away from home.”
