Baily reaping rewards after Stadium MK switch

Defender enjoying life after summer move…

7 December 2018

The performances of Baily Cargill this season have earned rave reports from the MK Dons faithful, and the defender is proud to call Stadium MK home.

Cargill departed AFC Bournemouth after 10-years with the South Cost-outfit before committing his future to MK Dons in the Summer Transfer Window.

Without a pre-season, Cargill signed with work to do. Now, three months down the line, the 23-year-old is reaping the rewards of his hard work.

“When I came here, I had a plan in mind of how I wanted things to go, and at the moment it is heading in that direction.” The defender told the media ahead of Saturday’s clash with Carlisle.

“I think I'm getting better and better as a player here, the club is going in the right direction and we're winning games. It was a bit of a risk for me but it was only going to go one way, and I'm glad I did it.”

“I like getting forward and creating chances, and my position now allows me to do that. I have to do my defensive duties first and foremost, but the way we play, I can underlap and overlap and gives me the chance to get forward, so I'm really enjoying it.

Despite sitting top of Sky Bet League Two, Cargill stated the Club are taking it one game at a time and are well aware of the threat Carlisle possess.

“It's more important to think about the next game than the end-of-season target because we might slip up in games along the way. We have to deal with each game as it comes and make sure we get three points every weekend.

“It is a cliché but to win on a Saturday is the most important thing, and that will get us promoted. We need to look at the near, not the future.

“It feels like ages since we've played so can't wait for Saturday”

Cargill also praised the form of Dean Lewington – a player he says – he’s built up a bond with.

“Dean has been brilliant so far. I've really enjoyed playing with him, we've built up a good relationship without really realising it. He's a great guy, he's got so much experience and it's a joy playing alongside him.

He concluded, "We're all really enjoying playing for Tis at the moment, we're playing well and winning games. We had a little bit of a blip, but it helps us, brings us back down to earth a bit and gets us working even harder to maintain our performances."
