Midfielder Ryan Watson on importance of winning games...

Ryan Watson made his MK Dons debut against Bury after making the move to MK1 earlier in the summer.

Ousseynou Cisse’s late winner ensured Paul Tisdale’s side made it two wins from their opening two Sky Bet League Two games.

Tonight, MK Dons face Sky Bet League One side Charlton Athletic in Round One of the Carabao Cup and in advance of the match Watson spoke about the importance of winning games - no matter what the competition.

“We’ve got to get into the winning habit,” the midfielder told iFollow MK Dons.

“The aim is to win football games and tonight is another chance to do so. If we can perform well too, that’ll be great for the lads and the squad.

“We’re looking forward to it. We’ve won our first two games and we’re going to try and win against tonight – that’s all we can do.”

With the squad in good spirits and games coming thick and fast, Watson noted that the depth in the squad is healthy and praised the MK Dons defence for their performances so far this season.

“We’ve got lads coming back from injury and the squad is looking healthy. There is competition for places and we’ve all got the same goal of helping this Club back up the league – that’s what the real target it.

“We’ve kept solid at the back this season and we’ve got players here who are very dangers. We showed that on Saturday and it was brilliant for Cisse to come off the bench and get the winner.”

Watson concluded, “It was good to get all three points and to make my home debut. You can’t beat a last-minute winner so it was a good day all round.”
