Tis key in Mathieu’s move

Mathieu Baurdry is eager to get going at Stadium MK and states Paul Tisdale was key in his move to MK1...

Mathieu Baudry is a name synonymous with the English Football League – with the Frenchman making over 200 appearances during his time in England.

The 30-year-old made his first appearance for an English Club in 2011 for Bournemouth – since then he’s represented Dagenham & Redbridge, Leyton Orient and Doncaster Rovers respectively.

His latest adventure brings him to Stadium MK, where he’ll work under Paul Tisdale for the first time in his career – a manager Baudry has great admiration for.

“I knew of the manager and I knew I would always like to play for him because of the way he plays and sets-up is something that suits me,” the defender told iFollow MK Dons.

“One of my best friends was playing for him for two years and he’s been telling me about his methods - I always had it in my mind that Tis is a manager I really want to work for.

“I’ve been speaking with Tis for a while and I’m delighted to be here. It’s always been a Club that I’ve looked at - we are really ambitious and I’m looking forward to getting going.”

Having made his professional debut in 2008 for French side Troyes, it’s safe to safe that Baudry arrives at MK1 with plenty of experience – something he hopes will benefit the Dons this season.

“I want to bring my experience to the Club. My personality is to remain calm and I want to bring that here, you’ve got to be relentless to get out of this league.

“I’ve done that two years ago with Doncaster and I know what it takes – you’ve got to be consistent and keep working but you also need to stay calm because it’s a long old season.”

He added, “I try to stay composed with and without the ball, obviously in this league, you have to compete and that’s what I’m looking to do - I like to play from the back and push the team forward.”

Baudry also noted how eager he is to grace the Stadium MK turf for the first time as a Dons player.

“It’s always been an attractive brand of football to play so I’m looking forward and can’t wait to be a part of it.

“I know it’s an ambitious Club and that comes from the Chairman, the stadium is beautiful and it’s always a place you want to come and play at when the fixtures come out so to play here every week is great.”
