Ousseynou Cisse’s dramatic late winner against Bury birthed a small piece of history for MK Dons – it marked the first time the Club had ever won their first two league matches of the season.

After replacing Ryan Watson with 30 minutes left on the clock, the Malian converted from George Williams’ driven cross to earn Paul Tisdale’s side all three points in their Stadium MK opener.

Now, attention turns to Tuesday night's Carabao Cup clash with Charlton Athletic, a game Cisse admits everyone wants to win.

“We have to keep focused and look to win every match,” the midfielder told iFollow MK Dons.

“We want to win every game we play and we will be training hard to do that against Charlton.”

Cisse also commented on his determination to make an impact from the bench on Saturday, while he also reserved special praise for the defensive performance that saw Tisdale’s side record their first clean sheet of the season.

“I’m happy that we won because we play for three points in every game - all the team worked hard and that’s the main point.

“I wasn’t happy that I was on the bench, but the manager told me at half-time I would come on - I knew I had to give my best for the team and that’s what I did.”

He added, “I have to show the manager and my team mates that I want to start. Every time I get onto the pitch I have to give my all to keep my shirt.

“We played well defensively and that’s why we won the game. If you concede first, it’s harder to win the match. The most important thing is defence, if you don’t concede a goal, you have a chance to win the game.”
