Lawson praises Dons’ togetherness

D'Ath reflects on Crewe draw and Dons debut...

20 August 2018

Lawson D’Ath was one of 10 new signings at Stadium MK this summer and despite such an influx of fresh faces, the midfielder praised how the Dons came together to earn a point at Crewe last Saturday.

Mathieu Baudry’s red card off towards the end of the game forced Tisdale’s men to see out the clash with ten men.

However, the Dons displayed their team spirit and togetherness to come away from the Alexandra Stadium with a point.

“Everyone is working for each other,” D’Ath told iFollow MK Dons following the final whistle.

“There are no bad eggs in this team, you can tell we put in a shift for each other when we went down to 10 men. We proved that we are together and it was a good point.”

The stalemate in Cheshire ensured the men from MK1 remained unbeaten from their opening four games – a record D’Ath is happy to boast.

“If you’d have said that after the opening three games we’d have picked up two wins, a draw, and a win in the cup – everyone would’ve snapped your hand off.

“I thought we edged the game and had a few chances – if we were leading it would’ve been a different game.”

Lawson added, “When we went down to 10 men, we came together – it was a good point in the end.”

The 25-year-old also reserved special praise for the 455 fans who made the journey from Milton Keynes, while also noting how pleased he was to make his Dons debut.

“The support from the fans was crazy – especially before the game. During the match, they helped us get over the line, so a massive thank you must go to them.

“I’m buzzing to have made my debut, it was a good game for me to play in and the minutes will put me in a good position for the next game.”
