Midfielder talks to Red Dot about his first two months as an MK Dons player...

When Jordan Houghton left Chelsea this summer, the midfielder was searching for a new place to call home having spent the past 10 years at Stamford Bridge.

In early July, following a long chat with Paul Tisdale, he chose to make Stadium MK only his second permanent base and he couldn’t be happier with the early returns from his time with MK Dons.

“I have really enjoyed it,” he told Red Dot, in an interview that can be read in this Saturday’s edition.

“Training in pre-season was good - it was nice to have a pre-season which I haven’t had for a few seasons. That really helped me to gel quickly into the squad. Coming into the games, it’s been positive so far and we’ve had some good results.”

“MK Dons ticks a lot of boxes for me. It’s also a good location for me in terms of my home - I’m not having to move up and down the country, I’m now living at home which I haven’t been able to do for a few years. It’s going to take a little bit of time for me to fully adjust and gel but I feel like it’s coming along well.

“It’s quite a young group, and a group where most of us are of similar ages and we all get on well.

"Going away to Spain certainly helped as pretty much everyone was there for that trip. We got to spend a bit of time with each other and got to know everyone.

"We’re not going to be 100% from the get go - it’s going to take a little bit of time to kick on and as the games go by we’ll find ourselves playing more and more as a team.”
