A look ahead to MK Dons Ladies' upcoming clash...

16 September 2017

James Honeyman is ready to see MK Dons Ladies play their free flowing football against Enfield Town, after grabbing their first win of the season last weekend.

The Dons travel to QE Stadium to play Enfield this Sunday in a FAWPL South East Division One match, kick-off 2pm.

Honeyman’s side grabbed their first win of the season in their last game, beating Actonians Ladies 4-0 at Willen Road, and the manager believes this will be a factor in the game against Enfield.

He said: “I think what the win against Actonians Ladies gave us is a chance, a chance to build.

“We needed that one win on the board, the anxiety is gone, the pressure is gone and now we can start playing our free flowing football and start rolling.”

After grabbing their first home win, the Dons will be looking to register their first away win against Enfield after losing their only away trip to AFC Wimbledon. Likewise, Town will be looking to the Dons game in order to achieve their first home win of the season.

So far, Enfield Town Ladies only league win was away from home against Norwich City, as Luton Town beat Enfield when they visited QE Stadium.

The Dons were successful in both their league games against Enfield last season, winning 1-0 at Willen Road before earning a 2-1 victory at QE Stadium.

They are currently seventh in the table ahead of this game, five points behind league leaders Luton Town Ladies who still have a 100% record after three games played.

Enfield Town Ladies are just a point behind the Dons, but find themselves three places behind in tenth due to goal difference.

As it is still early in the season, Honeyman believes the Enfield game will provide more information about how the Dons are currently performing.

He said: “I think we’ll know more about ourselves this week and especially by the end of the weekend.”
