A look ahead to MK Dons Ladies' clash with Cambridge United...

20 September 2017

MK Dons Ladies manager James Honeyman is expecting a tough challenge from Cambridge United, when they visit Willen Road this evening.

In their first mid-week game of the season, they Dons play host to Cambridge United on Wednesday. Kick-off 7:45pm.

James Honeyman reflected on how he’s not letting his side get ahead of themselves after winning their last two games.

He said: “We’re not getting carried away because we know, full well, how tough the game against Cambridge will be on Wednesday, however we are looking forward to the challenge.”

In the final two games of last season, the Dons did the double over Cambridge. They beat them 4-1 at Stadium MK with goals from Amelia Hazard, Charly Wright and a brace from Hannah Barrett and then beat them 2-0 away from home, thanks to goals from Hannah Barrett and Heather McDonnell. Those two victories at the tail end of the season saw the Dons confirm second place in the league, while the U’s finished fourth.

In the early stages of the season so far, the Dons once again find themselves ahead of Wednesday’s opponents in the league, with the Dons being fifth and Cambridge seventh.

The Dons have won their last two games and before that earned a draw against Denham United before losing to AFC Wimbledon. However, despite being lower in the table, Cambridge are yet to taste defeat but have won just one of their games, drawing the other three.
