Scott Wootton knows the only way to make up for recent disappointment is by putting together a run of positive results.
The Dons suffered a 2-0 reverse at Bristol Rovers on Saturday – a result which saw the men from MK1 slip to 16th in Sky Bet League One, six points adrift of the play-off places.
“It was a bad defeat for us,” Wootton said in his post-match interview. “It’s a game that we want to be winning with the squad we’ve got – we need to be doing better.
“We were decent enough in the first half – we had a lot of the play and a lot of the ball. It’s a mistake for the first goal and it knocked the stuffing out of us a little bit.
“Mistakes happen so it’s about regrouping quickly. We have to be able to stand up to the opposition and get a foothold back in the game – we just weren’t good at that today.”
He continued: “We’ve got to look at ourselves and try to put together a run of results. There’s still belief in the squad, we need to address the results and get ourselves up the table.”
