Ousseynou Cissé and Mali held Ivory Coast to a goalless draw in their recent 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier.

The MK Dons midfielder was amongst the substitutes for the fixture, which took place at the Stade 26 mars in Bamako on Friday evening.

Chances were at a premium for both sides but it was hosts who had the best opportunity to score a winner – Moussa Doumbia sending a fierce shot towards goal which rattled off the crossbar.

The draw ended the Eagles’ slim chances of qualifying for their first World Cup but with one game remaining they’ll want to pick themselves off the bottom of Group C – something they can achieve by beating Gabon in November.

Cissé will now re-join his Dons teammates and Stadium MK and begin preparations for Saturday's Sky Bet League One clash with Portsmouth.
