Ousseynou Cisse has been selected in the Mali squad for their upcoming 2018 FIFA World Cup Qualifier.
Cisse is one of 23 players selected by interim coach Mohamed Magassouba for the fixture with Ivory Coast, which will take place on Friday 6th October (KO 8pm BST) at the Stade du 26 Mars in Bamako.
This is the MK Dons midfielder’s first call-up to the Mali national team since June 2016. He currently has three caps to his name.
Mali need to pick up a victory to be in with any chance of qualifying for next summer’s tournament. They currently winless at the bottom of Group C, five points adrift of the leaders and their upcoming opponents, Ivory Coast.
Cisse is the second Dons player to receive international recognition, following Callum Brittain’s call-up to the England Under-20s squad. Both players will miss Tuesday's Checkatrade Trophy tie with Stevenage and the Sky Bet League One clash with Bradford City.
