Pawlett delighted to be back

Peter Pawlett talks to BBC 3 Counties Radio following Team of the Week nomination...

14 November 2017

After his tireless performance against Fleetwood Town, Peter Pawlett was named in the EFL Team of the Week.

His accolade earned him a place in BBC 3 Counties Radio’s VIP list, speaking to the local radio station, Pawlett expressed his joy to be back playing after an injury sidelined the Scot, “It’s been very frustrating for me so far this season.

“I’ve not had many minutes on the pitch but to be involved in the last three games and get decent results – I’m really pleased.”

Robbie Neilson’s men currently sit four points off the play-off places - a target Pawlett feels is well within reach, “We’ve got the quality to finish in the playoffs. We go into every game thinking we can get the three points.”

“The three wins this past week has given us plenty of confidence to go on a bit of a run now. We’ve played decent football at times this season we just need to find that consistency.

“We know we need to get points on the board, thankfully on the weekend we performed well enough and got the result.”

Pawlett agreed terms with the Dons in March 2017 before seeing out the rest of his contract with Aberdeen and the 26-year-old has had no troubles settling in, “Everyone has made me feel very welcome, we’ve got a great bunch of lads and I get on with the manager really well.

“Away from the injury situation and it’s been very good – hopefully now I can start putting the performances in on the pitch.

“Once we get everyone back in the team and getting to know each other properly, I’m sure we can kick on.”
