Reeves & Co ready for AFC trip

13 March 2017

The MK Dons players understand the importance of Tuesday’s clash with AFC Wimbledon, insists midfielder Ben Reeves.

Reeves & Co travel to the Cherry Red Records Stadium on Tuesday evening for what will be the Dons’ first-ever fixture at the home of AFC Wimbledon.

“We know how much of a big game it is and how much of a big game it is for the fans as well,” Reeves told MK Dons PlayerHD. “We need to make sure we do everyone proud.”

“Rochdale played well in the first half and we didn’t so the gaffer gave us a kick up the backside in the dressing room at half-time and that sparked us a little bit. Even then we weren’t really at it in the second half but at least there was a bit of fight.

“The boys are disappointed with how we played in the first half and bits of the second half as well but at least there was a bit of fight from us to come back into the game twice – that’s the only positive we can really take.

The men from MK1 go into the match on the back of a 2-2 draw with play-off hopefuls Rochdale – a game in which the side escaped with a point despite not being at their best the majority of the contest.

Reeves added: “It’s nice that we had a little bit of fight. Hopefully we can have that same fight on Tuesday, play well and get the three points.”

“We need to be better than that and we know we can be better. We need to pick ourselves up and go again on Tuesday because it’s another big game for us.”
