Neilson targets strong finish

29 March 2017

As MK Dons prepare to enter the final month of the 2016/17 campaign, Robbie Neilson has called for his side to end the season in a positive manner.

Neilson’s men have just seven games remaining with still plenty to play for, including securing Sky Bet League One status as well as pushing for a top-half finish.

“We want to pick up more points as we can and push up the league,” Neilson said. “The fight is to try and get a top-half finish and if we can do that then great.

“We want to be a team that wins week-in, week-out and while it’s frustrating that we’re not there yet, hopefully we can get there in the near future.”

Neilson added: “We want to play with energy and to excite the fans – it’s what we aim to do every week.

“We managed to jump Charlton (Athletic) which gets us a little bit higher. We’ve got a huge game next week against Gillingham and if we can win that then we might move further up the table as well – we’ve just got to keep aiming up.”

Neilson's Dons will be looking to return to winning ways on Saturday when they entertain Gillingham at Stadium MK - tickets are priced from £22 adults, £17 over-65s/under-21s and £7 under-18s, while under-12s go FREE with a Young Dons membership.
