Kieran & Dons keen to put it right

16 March 2017

Kieran Agard insists he and his MK Dons team-mates will be looking to put things right this weekend.

Despite a solid first-half display, the Dons were made to pay for a below par second-half performance on Tuesday as they were beaten 2-0 by AFC Wimbledon in what was their first visit to the Cherry Red Records Stadium.

“It’s very disappointing,” Agard told MK Dons PlayerHD after Tuesday’s loss. “The game meant so much to us and we know how much it meant to the fans too so we’re just gutted –the boys are all down in there.

“I thought in the first half we were by the far better team and we had more of the ball. Second half they obviously got the goals and we just couldn’t get back in it.

“It’s a very disappointing night for us.”

“We’ll go back to the training ground and try to put things right. We’ve got a chance to put it right on Saturday and we’ll do everything we can to do that.”

“We’ve got to draw a line under (Tuesday) and move forward to Saturday when we’ve got an opportunity to put it right and give a good show.

A victory would go some way to making up for Tuesday’s disappointment and Agard knows that anything less than a good performance and result is unacceptable.

Agard & Co have the chance to respond on Saturday when they take on bottom-of-the-table Coventry City at Stadium MK.

“We thank the fans for coming out and supporting us. They were great and we’re disappointed we couldn’t reward them tonight.”

Agard says the players are gutted they couldn’t reward the Dons supporters with a positive result.

The men from MK1 were backed by a number of travelling fans who braved what was expected to be a hostile atmosphere and support the team in the capital.
