Ed eyeing back-to-back wins

22 March 2017

Ed Upson hopes MK Dons can build on last weekend’s victory and secure another valuable three points at Port Vale on Saturday.

. “We’ve just got to keep going and play as well as we can.” Upson told MK Dons PlayerHD “We’ve had a few tough games lately but the lads are eager for another result on Saturday,”

Upson & Co travel to Vale Park knowing a win will see them reach the 50-point mark and also move nine points clear of the Valiants, who currently occupy 21st-place in the Sky Bet League One table.

“We knew it wasn’t going to be an easy game, despite the position they are in so we are pleased to get the result and kick on up the table,” Upson said after the home win.

The Dons go into Saturday’s match on the back of a 1-0 success over Coventry City at Stadium MK – a triumph which saw them end a run of four games without a victory.

He added: “I thought the fans were brilliant too, especially after (the AFC Wimbledon defeat). They really got behind us and that win was for them.”

“I thought the lads were professional in the way they took to the game and the way we played. In the second half we played just as well as we did in the first half, whereas sometimes we’ve let ourselves down in the second half – it was a good solid performance.”
