Fans’ favourite Chuks Aneke will be at Stadium MK next season.
“I’m delighted to have him for another year,” Robbie Neilson told mkdons.com. “Getting Chuks’ contract secured is a big step for us.
“When he’s been fit and playing, he’s been one of our main players. The key thing is getting him on the pitch consistently.
“It’s been a difficult period for him but he’s shown tremendous attitude and he’s working hard to be ready for next season.”
Aneke added to MK Dons PlayerHD: “I’m delighted to be staying. For me, I just want to play football and enjoy it, like I did earlier this season.
“The supporters have been great with me and I want to show them what I can do over a longer period of time.”
The 23-year-old has impressed in his 18 appearances this season, playing a key role in the Dons’ turnaround in form at the start of the New Year.
He scored back-to-back braces in the games against Northampton Town and Peterborough United – the latter of his two strikes against Posh a definite Goal of the Season contender.
Aneke’s 2016/17 season was cut short due to a hamstring injury but the 23-year-old will be back the forthcoming campaign, where he’ll be looking to continue his excellent start to life as a Don.
