Dean Lewington will remain MK Dons' club captain next season.
Manager Robbie Neilson confirmed in his pre-season press conference that the 33-year-old, who signed a two-year deal to remain with the Club back in May, will retain the armband for the 2017/18 campaign.
It will be Lewington’s 10th season as captain, having stepped up to the role in 2008 following Keith Andrews’ departure.
Neilson said of his full-back: “He’ll remain captain next season. He’ll still be an important part of the squad and he’s still got a lot to offer this team, not just on the pitch but also off it.
“He’s a really good character to have about and I think it’s important we keep that continuity.”
He added: “Since I’ve come in he’s really looked after himself and he’s got himself really fit. I’m sure during pre-season he’ll prove, once again, what an asset he is to the Football Club.”
