Kieran keen to keep good feeling going

Striker pleased to be back after 'amazing' summer...

27 June 2017

It was a summer to remember for Kieran Agard after he became a father for the first time – one of the reasons he’s come back smiling.

Agard and his wife, Toyah, welcomed Myla-Rae into the world at the start of May, just a couple of days after he was named Top Goalscorer at the Club’s Player of the Year Awards.

“I’m really enjoying being a dad,” he told iFollow MK Dons. “It’s an amazing experience and we are loving every minute of it.

“It’s not been the most relaxing of summers but I’ve made sure I’ve got my rest.”

The 14-goal man and his team-mates started their pre-season programme on Friday.

“It’s good to be back. I couldn’t wait to get back out there.

“All the boys enjoyed the break but now everyone is back, everyone is excited to see each other and share their summer stories. We’re all happy to be back.

“I’m feeling good. You do your bits in the off-season to keep yourself ticking over. It puts you in good stead and it’s no surprise when you feel sharp out there.”

The men from MK1 were put through their paces by Head of Sports Science John Hill with a number of intense running drills, while Robbie Neilson and his backroom team ensured their feet remained on the pedal with a series of tough technical drills.

He said: “It’s always nice to have the balls out on the first day. There’s a lot of running, obviously, but when you’re doing it with the ball it makes it a bit more enjoyable. You can have a smile on your face and get your fitness in as well.

“Everyone has come in with a spring in their step after the backend of last season. There’s a real buzz around place.”

Agard’s aims for the season are simple.

He said: “I always want to score goals but the most important thing for me is for us to do well and for us to get promoted. When the goals come I’ll be happy but, first and foremost, I want the team to do well.”
