#FixtureReleaseDay - key dates!

Diaries at the ready...

21 June 2017

MK Dons discovered their 2017/18 Sky Bet League One schedule at 9am on Wednesday morning – here are some key dates for your diary...

Saturday 5th August – Wigan Athletic (H)
Robbie Neilson’s men kick off the new campaign at home to the Latics, who dropped down from the Championship last season. The fixture will see the two sides go head to head for the first time in a league encounter.

Saturday 12th August – Blackpool (A)
The first journey the Dons will make of 2017/18 is a lengthy one – a 388-mile round trip to take on the Seasiders, who gained promotion to the third tier following their play-off win at Wembley in May. Here’s to the sun being out!

Boxing Day – Plymouth Argyle (H)
For the third year in a row, the Dons will play at Stadium MK on Boxing Day as they host another one of the promoted sides, which will see the two teams battle it out for the first time since the 2010/11 season.

New Year’s Day – Oxford United (A)
A short trip on the first day of 2018 will surely be welcomed by the Dons fans, who may be able to enjoy an extra glass of champagne without the worries of an early start!

Easter Weekend – Saturday 31st March Gillingham (A) & Monday 2nd April Blackburn Rovers (H)
The Gills await the men from MK1 on Easter Saturday before the second of two games in four days sees the former Premier League champions visit Buckinghamshire. The Dons will be looking to overcome Rovers once again after winning the inaugural home meeting 3-0 in the Championship two seasons ago.

Saturday 5th May – Shrewsbury Town (A)
The 2017/18 campaign will come to a close at the Greenhous Meadow – the scene for the first fixture of last season, which the Dons won 1-0.

Fixtures are subject to change.
