Five young pros to remain at Stadium MK

MK Dons can confirm it has triggered the options in the contracts of five of its young professionals.

Callum Brittain, Conor Furlong, Oran Jackson, Brandon Thomas-Asante and Ben Tilney – all of whom made first-team appearances last season – will remain at Stadium MK until at least June 2018.

Forward Thomas-Asante played the most amongst the quintet in 2016/17, featuring 12 times. He also scored his first senior goal in the Emirates FA Cup triumph over Spennymoor Town.

Defender Tilney also found the net last season, scoring a stunning debut goal during the EFL Cup tie with Newport County in August 2016. In total, the full-back made 11 appearances, 10 of which were starts.

The versatile Brittain played in eight games during the 2016/17 campaign – his first as a professional. A full-back that can also operate on the wing, the 19-year-old played in five of the final six games of last season.

Fellow defender Jackson made four appearances last season, helping the Dons to victories in the EFL Cup and the Checkatrade Trophy. He also spent time out on loan with Hemel Hempstead Town.

Furlong was another who enjoyed a loan spell away from Stadium MK in 2016/17, spending time with Oxford City during the second half of the campaign. The exciting young midfielder also featured in the Dons’ EFL Cup win over Newport County.

Midfielder Giorgio Rasulo, another young professional whose contract expires at the end of the month, has been offered a new deal.

Meanwhile, Kabongo Tshimanga will officially leave Stadium MK when his contract expires at the end of June.

The striker, who joined the Dons as an Under-10, played 13 first-team games and scored one goal – a dramatic equaliser in last season’s EFL Cup tie with Reading at the Madejski Stadium.

The Club would like to thank Tshimanga for his contribution and wish him all the best for the future.
