Robbie Neilson has given his verdict following Friday's Carabao Cup Round One draw.
Neilson’s men will travel to EFL newcomers Forest Green Rovers the week commencing Monday 7th August.
The tie at The New Lawn will see the two sides go head to head for the first time after the Gloucestershire outfit achieved promotion from the National League via the play-offs at Wembley in May.
“I think it’s a good start and an exciting one for us,” he told iFollow MK Dons.
“It’s against a side who has just been promoted into the EFL and it’s not too far away either - I’m looking forward to it.”
He added: “It’s just good to get the fixtures coming in – I’m desperate to start planning and seeing who we are going to play.
“I’m now looking towards the league fixtures coming out next week.”
The Dons' Sky Bet League One fixtures for 2017/18 will be revealed at 9am on Wednesday 21st June.
